Premiere has supplied admixtures on four phases (S71, S72, S73, S76) of the Southerly Waste Water Treatment Plant expansion, the largest of Columbus’ two plants. Central Ready Mix supplied over 35,000 cubic yards of high performance concrete for the project. Kokosing Construction handled three phases (S72, S73, S74) a $52.6 million Secondary Clarifier Addition scheduled for February 2011, includes 11 200-foot clarifiers and a new sludge-control facility, totaling over 25,000 cubic yards of concrete and 3,000 feet if process piping. It will boost secondary clarification capacity from 255 to 377 million gallons per day.

The 16.4 million S73 Headworks Part 2 featured 22-foot grit tanks and four classifiers, increasing plant capacity from 230 to 330 million gallons daily. S71, led by C.J. Mahan Construction, included a new Raw Sewage Pump Building with four 48′ pumps, bar racks, flow meters, and sluice gates. Premiere worked closely with Central Ready Mix to meet strict mix requirements set by the engineers, including a fine aggregate limit of 41%, shrinkage limits of .039% at 21 days and .045% at 28 days, a .40 water-cement ratio, and 4500 psi strength at 28 days. Air content was maintained at 6% ± 1% and a slump of 6″-7″ was achieved by using UltraFlo® DP.
