The Crider Road bridge was placed using ODOT specs. Moritz Materials used their state approved JMF mix design. UltraFinish 1L Nano Silica Admixture was used in lieu of the 7-day continuous wet cure process.

We had absolutely no trouble with UltraFinish 1L. More people should be using it.
Working with Mosser Construction, we conducted a test pour before the Crider Road bridge project. We had no issues with the product and experienced favorable results with both the test pour and the bridge deck.

The Olt Road bridge is the first bridge deck in Allen County, Ohio to use both UltraFinish 1L and Impede® IntraSeal together. This combination improves impermeability results over standard concrete, and research has shown that this combination performs equally, or better than, a topically applied curing compound. In addition, the RILEM absorption test confirms this deck shows zero water penetration at 28 days.

RILEM testing was performed on the Olt Rd. bridge deck. After one hour, the test showed 0% water absorption on the Impede® IntraSeal and UltraFinish 1L deck.

Incorporating UltraFinish 1L in the mix extended the finishing window. Less effort was required to finish the concrete, and no honeycombing was observed on the backside of the curb.
